'Descendants of Razakars,' Responds Fadnavis Over Owaisi's 'Jihad' Remarks
Targetting the AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, BJP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis claimed them to be the descendants of 'Razakars'.
Ahead of the state polls scheduled to take place on November 20, Fadnavis remarked, "The 'Razakars' tortured the people of Marathwada, looted their lands, tried to rape women, destroyed families..."
Following the remarks made by Owaisi claiming that while his ancestors did jihad against the British, Fadnavis' ancestors penned love letters, Fadnavis released his statement.
The term 'Razakar' has become quite a buzzword. It came to light when Sheikh Hasina referred to the protesting students as 'razakars' or those who had sided with Pakistan during Bangladesh's freedom struggle, causing tensions in the country.
